- 18.12.2011 Linda Lawson and Valerie
(Ice Crystal) went to Bridlington
open show and won BOB, 1st AV
gundog, group four and the open stakes. Linda went
home laden with goodies including and bottle of the best Malt. Nice
start to Christmas I think.
|
- Well done Franke and Margaret McCabe with Mariglen
Nina Fever who has recently won a
junior warrant.

- 13.12.2011 Happy birthday Nora. What a
fabulous puppy career she leaves behind. 13
best puppies in breed at championship shows.
Top English puppy, multiple BPIS and RBPIS
wins including gundog clubs and championship shows.
Unbeaten in her classes at championship shows and just once at an
open show when she was second. Lots of luck to Linda and
Nora for the coming new years.
|
- 09.12.2011 The last show of the year and what a fab day
we all had. DCC, BOB and shortlisted in the

BP. She also won
2nd in the puppy bitch stakes from a field of
seventy plus. Joy Field and Sea The Stars

|
- 04.12.2011 NESS. Again
Nora won BPIS and
a special win for Mel Sharples and Mariglen Crystal
Gayle as they took the RCC.
A very special win because you may remember Gayle was
involved in a road traffic accident a couple of years ago and we
thought she was going to at the least lose her leg and possibly her
life. It was a traumatic time for us. Congratulations to Mel
who has over the past eighteen months gradually brought Gayle
back to the peak of condition and my best wishes for their continued
success. Frankie won second
in open and Valerie was
third in limit. Pictures below
by Tereza Watkins.

with Sh Ch Cumbersett Aira Force on Blue Peter
eight years ago with six of their nine puppies.

- 26.06.2011 In the blazing sunshine at
Derby County Show,
Sunshine won BOB and
Nora best puppy in breed. Because
it was so very hot, we decided not to stay to challenge for BIS or
BPIS, especially as baby Nora has been out the day before.
- Another Mariglen leaving his owners heartbroken is
Mariglen Blue Monty, litter brother to Flaming Colours and
Princess Royal. He was half brother to Lupin and died just one week
later than her. John and Sue Bourne lost Monty at only seven
years of age. My grateful thanks to them for loving and caring for
Monty over the past seven year.

arrived home and after eating up all her dinner went out light the
proverbial light. Francesca
won open and Valerie
won graduate.
|
- 16.06.2011 The last few days have be very sad ones for
Mariglen. We had to make the dreadful decision to say goodbye to
Mariglen Striking Diamonds with Gemsett (Dinah) and her
granddaughter Sh Ch Mariglen Time To Shine with Gemsett
(Lupin). Dinah had her fourteenth birthday
last Sunday, but dear Lupin was not yet ten. These two
girls were important members of team Mariglen, Dinah
was the dam of Mariglen Glitters who gave me four show
champions including Lupin. Lupin was a good winner and
made up into a champion in just six weeks. We are all heartbroken
|
- 10.06.2011 Three Counties
Champioship Show today will be a memorable event for a
long time to come as Frankie won the

having beaten the finalists from the other three days to win the

- 10.04.2011 I am saddened to have to record the untimely
death of fellow setter owner Tony Seaman as the result of a
tragic accident this afternoon. Tony and his wife Brenda had
English Setters for many years. I first them when they bought from
me a lovely blue bitch who was the litter sister to Sh Ch Mariglen
Talking Pictures. Jodie lived with them for fifteen
years. A couple of years ago they had from me Mariglen Another
Blonde (Eva) and a few months later "poached" her mother
Sh Ch Mariglen Flaming Colours. Only for a weekend now
and then, but eventually Flame chose to stay with them. She
was besoted with Tony and when he came to collect her
couldn't get into his car quick enough. Brenda has been a
keen ringside attendant for the past eighteen months and had been
hoping to have puppies from Eva this year and start
to show. To my friend Brenda, my deepest, heartfelt
sympathies.
|

Linda Harris. 2nd Post Grad bitch
Linda Lawson's Mariglen Ice Crystal. 3rd
open bitch Sh Ch Mariglen Francesca Fenston.
A bit of a comedown from last year I guess, but Frankie
made it very plain that she really didn't want to be a show girl
today.
|
- Saturday 05.03.2011 Not a doggy day, but a
very proud granny day. The pictures
show my grand daughter Morgan runnings in the
McCain Cross Country Trials at Birmingham
today. The adult races were World championship qualifiers. Morgan was
about the youngest competitor in her age group and had to qualify to
get to these championships. She was representing Humberside. What
an achievement to run 3000m at just eleven years old only by a few
weeks. She ran a very good race and came to the finish in the middle
of the field. Her granny couldn't run 3000m in about twelve mintues,
can you? Morgan's daddy is the Glen part of my affix. The
little chap in the second photo is my grandson Joseph.

|
- Sunday 26.02.2011 We had a really good day at
Mid Western Gundog Club today. Tereza
Watkins' Mariglen Snowdrift (Josh) won

way to spell this). Puppy, Mariglen Beautiful Dawn (Sunshine)

- Friday 07.01.2011 A very snowy and cold start to the New
Year. Linda and I went to
Boston Chamionship Show, although we didn't have CCs for
our breed. Sunshine won BPIB,
but because it was so cold we decided to go home rather than wait
for the puppy group.
|
- 01.01.2011 As the year turns a quick look back at 2010. This
was another good year for Mariglen. Frankie has a
fabulous start with the CC, BOB and group 2 at Crufts. She followed
this with BIS at the ESA championship show. After this she retired
temporarily to have ten babies at the end of May. Eight of these
pups are with people who are hoping to show them. Five of the eight
have been to the only two championship shows available to them in
2010 and all five have qualified for Crufts 2011. Lego
had a couple of outings and won the CC on both occasions, one with
BOB, he was also BIS at Mid Western Gundog. Tixi Field enjoyed
an Indian Summer winning BIS at ESA Wales open show from the veteran
class and also BCC and RBIS at ESS of Scotland champ show. Blue
Flame ended the year with 6CCs under his belt. Snowdrift
won a CC and two RCCs from Junior. He also became a dad on two
occasions. Ice Crystal won a RCC. To round off the
year, Princess Royal whelped just two puppies in the
middle of December, at this time of writing they look most promising. The
bitch pup will remain at Mariglen, her name is Mariglen Gift
Wrapped for Gemsett, you will aways read about her by the
name of Nora. Her litter brother Mariglen Prince Charming
will be going to a show home and hopefully will have a good career
with his new owners. We wish them luck. On a sad note we said
goodbye to Gamble at the end of August.
We hope that Sh Ch Bondgate Evening Star Over Mariglen
(Linda Harris), Walshaw Moon Dust (Linda
Harris), Mariglen Crystal Gayle (Mel Sharples)
and Mariglen Another Blonde (Tony & Brenda Seaman)
will have babies during 2011. These girls except Moon Dust
are owned in partnership with me.
To end the year, Lego won the
ESA's Elswood Progeny Salver for
the second year running and Annie (Princess Royal) the
Settrend Brood Bitch Trophy.
